Professor Eedy Mezer is an attending physician in the Department of Ophthalmology and an adult strabismus surgeon. He serves in the Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Service of Rambam’s Ruth Rappaport Children’s Hospital.
After graduating cum laude from the Ruth and Bruce Rappaport Faculty of Medicine of the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology in 1989 Professor Mezer completed his residency in Ophthalmology at Rambam in 2000. He went on to complete a matched fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, affiliated with the University of Toronto, Ontario, Canada (2000–2001).
Professor Mezer has been on the staff of the Technion’s Faculty of Medicine since 2006 and was appointed Clinical Associate Professor there in 2024.
An active member of the International Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Council (IPOSC), Professor Mezer served as a research committee member from 2013–2016, is the immediate past chairman of the IPOSC research committee (2019–2024), and is currently serving as their digital media editor since 2024.
A past chairman of the Israeli Society of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (ISPOS) from 2013-2016, Professor Mezer is also a member of the Israeli Ophthalmologists Association (IOS) and served as a board member (2016–2022) and their digital media editor (2017–2024). He is also a past board member of the Israeli Society for Vision and Eye Research (ISVER) (2016–2018).
