Professor Rami Eliakim is the Chair of Medicine and Director of the Department of Gastroenterology at Rambam Health Care Campus. dkdAfter obtaining his Medical Degree from the Hebrew University Faculty of Medicine in Jerusalem, Professor Eliakim trained in Medicine and Gastroenterology at Hadassah University Hospital in Jerusalem and completed a Fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis. dkProfessor Eliakim’s main clinical and research interests are in Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Wireless Capsule endoscopy. Professor Eliakim is a pioneer in the development of the novel wireless esophageal and colonic capsule endoscopes. dkHe has been a Visiting Professor at the Department of Gastroenterology at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York. dkHe is the author of over 200 scientific articles, is a member of the Guidelines Committee of the World Congress of Gastroenterology, is the Israeli representative in the European Crohn’s and Colitis Organization, and is a member of the editorial board of the World Journal of Gastroenterology. Professor Eliakim has served as the President of the Israel Gastroenterology Association and as the Head of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Section of the Association and has received numerous prestigious awards. dk
