The Department of Physical Therapy's current hydrotherapy pool measures a mere 2 by 3 meters and can accommodate only a few patients at one time. Although in operation every day of the week, it cannot serve in a timely manner all injured patients in need of access and, as a result, patients and therapists are faced with a breakdown in the continuity of physiotherapeutic treatment. The plan calls for a state-of-the-art hydrotherapy pool measuring 10 x 15 meters, with a depth from 80 to 160 centimeters and a water temperature of 32-35 degrees centigrade, to be housed in a facility appropriately designed and equipped for handicapped access.
