Top Priority for Lifesaving Purposes Northern Israel's rapidly growing population, combined with Rambam Medical Center's recent wartime experiences, have brought heightened urgency to our need for a state-of-the-art, fortified Emergency Trauma Center. The current facility was built 20 years ago and can accommodate barely 70,000 patients per year, but it actually receives more than 120,000 patients annually. Rambam is currently in the midst of this construction project, with completion slated for Summer 2009. The plans call for a nearly triple expansion of the ETC to 2,850 sq meters and include budgetary provision for acquiring the highest quality diagnostic and therapeutic equipment and for interior construction of seven component emergency facilities.
