Annually, approximately half a million outpatient visits are made to Rambam for diagnostic and therapeutic medical and surgical care.
Our proposal calls for a center with renovated and expanded care and research facilities. These will include upgraded equipment for a state-of-the-art Day Surgery Unit and accommodations for 20 specialized clinics, among them the following:
» Center of Excellence in Chronic Wound Care » Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Clinic » Liver Disease Unit
» Nutrition Clinic » Obesity Clinic
The proposal includes budgetary provision for computerizing the center's medical records and automating its switchboard. Funding is also needed for teaching facilities because although medical students, residents and fellows train in a hospital-inpatient setting, in actual practice they will almost always care for patients in an ambulatory clinical setting.
