Magnet – Sponsored by the Office of the Chief Scientist, this program deals with technological infrastructure for Israeli industry. Magnet is a unique tool for utilizing national sources earmarked for industrial R&D. The program facilitates collaboration between companies, as well as between companies and research institutions that carry out research, develop and assimilate new technologies. Magneton – Designed for a dual collaboration between an academic group and an industrial company, Magneton increases the feasibility for technology transfer before a company implements further development of technology resulting from academic research. Nofar – An academic program for basic and applied research, Nofar provides industrial companies access to information that will allow further investing in R&D. the program has a 12-month duration with a budget of up to $100K. ISF – The Israel Science Foundation is the primary body that supports basic research in Israel. The Fund's research grants are allocated on a competitive basis according to scientific excellence. ISF activities encompass exact sciences and technology, life sciences, medicine, humanities and social sciences. The grant are awarded to researchers in universities, research institutes, institutions of higher learning and hospitals. http://www.isf.org.il
BSF – This program encourages cooperation between scientists in Israel and the US in multiple areas of basic and applied science research. Active collaboration between scientists from both countries is a precondition for receiving this grant. http://www.bsf.org.il
FP7 – Program for the Seventh Framework (the FP7) of the European Union aims at encouraging scientific cooperation throughout the continent and at advancing research areas that place Europe at the forefront of science worldwide. The program has a budget of over 50 million Euros, divided between international R&D groups ("consortiums"), on a competitive basis with best project calls on behalf of the European Union. The program is based on four main principles: Cooperation, Ideas, People and Capacities, each of which is expected to be dealt with as a major aspect of European R&D. http://www.iserd.org.il
