The Department of Pediatrics B at Meyer Children's Hospital in the Rambam Healthcare Campus cares for the entire range of illnesses in the field of internal medicine in children, including severe and chronic disorders. This includes diagnosis and treatment of joint diseases, metabolic disorders, gastroenterological diseases and adolescent medicine. The department performs numerous tests, including liver biopsies and joint aspirations, and tests for metabolic diseases.
In the framework of the department's outpatient services, children with specific disorders are treated with biological drugs such as Anti-TNF drugs for Crohn's disease and rheumatoid arthritis, and enzymes for Pompe disease.
Children in the department are cared for by a large multi-disciplinary team, which includes, in addition to physicians and nurses, physical and occupational therapists, social workers and psychologists, all highly experienced and experts in working with children.
