The Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department provides a wide range of dental treatment and surgery of the oral cavity, jaws and face, to children and adults. The department focuses on the following areas:
 • Treatment of facial trauma caused by car accidents, war injuries, work accidents and interpersonal violence;
 • Treatment of benign and malignant tumors of the oral cavity, jaws and neck, including reconstructive surgery after tumor resections;
 • Orthognatic surgery for the treatment of congenital deformities in children and young adults, including advanced techniques for bone grafting and bone lengthening.
 • Endoscopic surgery of the salivary glands in adults and children;
 • Preprosthetic bone grafting surgery of atrophic jaws and dental implantology;
 • Ambulatory dental and oral surgery under general anesthesia in case of severe dental anxiety and medically compromised patients.

The inpatient department provides services for hospitalized patients undergoing operations and the outpatient clinic for ambulatory surgery, consultation, examination and follow-up.

Special emphasis in the department is given to the education of medical students and residents in oral and maxillofacial surgery, and to extensive academic activity and clinical research.
