The Gynecology Department is a part of the Gynecology and Obstetrics Department at Rambam Healthcare Campus. The Gynecology Department cares for a wide range of gynecological disorders, including diagnosis, pharmaceutical treatment and surgery, as well as supportive treatment. The department comprises inpatient and ambulatory sections, an emergency unit with operating room equipped to carry out all gynecological procedures: laparoscopy and hysteroscopy operations, open surgery, and specialized procedures such as vaginal reconstruction and reconstruction of the pelvic floor using advanced materials. Furthermore, the department performs specialized oncology surgery in collaboration with leading experts from overseas. The Gynecology Department also provides consultations in the areas of gynecology and gyneco-oncology to all departments of the hospital.
The department employs a unique model which includes an IVF Unit, endoscopic unit, Gyneco-urology unit, and a Gyneco-oncology unit, which provide personalized treatment by multi-disciplinary teams from within the hospital.
The department team is extensively involved in research activities in its field, the most noteworthy being a drug for ceasing pregnancy during the first and second trimesters; early detection of asymptomatic DVT in gyneco-oncology patients receiving chemotherapy, and more.
