The Oncology Institute is a multi-disciplinary center for cancer treatment, which is certified by the European Society for Clinical Oncology (ESMO) as an integrated center for treatment and support services.
The Oncology Institute includes clinics for consultation and ongoing care, a radiation unit with linear accelerators, three-dimensional planning system for optimizing radiation therapy, an IMRT system, a system for precise radiotherapy using fractionated stereotactic technique, etc., chemotherapy outpatient center and inpatient oncology departments (radiotherapy and chemotherapy). Special radiotherapy services include intra-operative radiation therapy, high dose rate brachytherapy, total skin electron beam irradiation, total body photon irradiation etc.
The institute actively participates in leading research projects in the field of cancer, including studies on new drugs and biological treatments for cancer, radiation therapy using new technologies, clinical research in radiotherapy using experimental protocols of the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC), and more.
