The Unit for Internal Medicine Consultation to the Surgery Division operates under the auspices of the Division of Internal Medicine and provides consulting services to 14 departments of the Surgery Division. Furthermore, the unit monitors patients with internal illnesses who are hospitalized in the surgery departments until they are released, providing recommendations to their community healthcare providers. The monitoring of patients is provided on a daily basis to all of the surgery departments.
The consultation services are provided by the unit staff on the day they are requested, including professional opinions of experts in the sub-specialties such as cardiology, gastroenterology, endocrinology, etc.
