The Institute for Immunology, Allergy and AIDS provides services in four main areas:
Consulting Services to other Departments The institute physicians participate in teaching meetings and discussions in the different departments and provide consulting services regarding hospitalized patients with immunological disorders. This consultation service extends to hospitals throughout Northern Israel for individual patients.
Clinical Services The clinic provides medical services to patients with allergies, autoimmune diseases, compromised immunity and AIDS. Furthermore medical/nursing services are provided to the various immigrant absorption centers.
Teaching and Training The institute teaches and trains physicians, laboratory workers and students. The training is provided in the framework of staff meetings and invited lectures. In addition, training is given to physicians in the Kupat Holim HMO as part of their professional enrichment studies in immunology and allergies, conducted at Rambam Healthcare Campus.
Research Within the institute, basic and clinical research projects are carried out independently or in collaboration with other departments in the hospital, the Technion's Faculty of Medicine and the Immunology Research Unit at Carmel Hospital in Haifa. The research activities are fully funded by research grants.
