The Clinical Pharmacology Unit at the Rambam Healthcare Campus provides consulting services on different issues related to the inter-relationship between drugs, drugs side effects, and the use of drugs in special circumstances such as pregnancy, lactation, infants and elderly individuals. Also patients with liver or kidney diseases receive our attention and care. In addition, a therapeutic drug monitoring service and consultation is very active for admitted and ambulatory individuals.
The focus is on drug treatment and prevention of side effects. Services are provided after physicians request from the different departments, from the ambulatory service and from the community. Patients and families can consult the Unit services without having a physician referral.
The Unit works in close cooperation with the pharmaceutical services. Its services are provided round-the-clock, seven days a week in cooperation with the Israel Poison Information Institute.
Personnel from the Clinical Pharmacology Unit are extensively involved in research, as well as in training medical students, physicians and nursing staff.
