The Unit of Clinical Epidemiology is dedicated to the advancement of research in public health . We focus on studying the determinants of health, measuring health and developing methodologies of clinical decision making in a multi-disciplinary approach that emphasizes preventative medicine, merging research and clinical practice.
Among the studies conducted by the unit are: estimating military and civilian cost of injuries, identifying measures for evaluation of laboratory tests and physicians' diagnostic testing, and evaluating clinical quality measures.
The unit team uses advanced computerized technologies, including data processing software such as CIA, EPIINFO, NCSS and SPSS. In parallel, the unit also participates in joint activities with the School of Public Health at the University of Haifa and the Faculty of Medicine at the Technion.
