The Cardiology Department carries out all examinations and tests related to heart diseases, and treats the entire range of these disorders. Patients in the Rambam Healthcare Campus requiring diagnosis, treatment and clinical follow-up of heart diseases are hospitalized in this department.
The department maintains a number of units and clinics, which provide specialized medical care and services for a wide range of heart diseases, including: the Intensive Cardiac Care Unit, the Unit for Interventional Cardiology (catheterizations and angioplasty), the Unit for Non-invasive Cardiology (Echocardiography), Pacemaker Service, Clinical Electrophysiology Service (Arrhythmias), Congestive Heart Failure Clinic, Clinic for Pericardial Diseases, Post-Heart Attack Rehabilitation Clinic, Clinic for Valvular Heart Diseases, Clinic for Pregnant Women with Heart Disease, Stress Tests, Holter monitors, General Cardiology Clinic, and more.
The department is the largest of its kind in Northern Israel, with 37 hospitalization beds. It has 22 cardiology specialists and 9 physicians, and the staff excels in clinical and basic research, carried out in collaboration with the Technion Faculty of Medicine. The department also serves as a center for teaching and training medical students, internists, nurses, x-ray technicians, and more.
