Israel Zelikovic MD

Prof. Israel Zelikovic is a graduate of the Sackler School of Medicine, Tel-Aviv University. He completed a residency in pediatrics at Beilinson Medical Center, and a pediatric nephrology fellowship at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and University of California, Davis. Prof. Zelikovic served as a Staff Nephrologist at Children’s Hospital and Medical Center in Seattle, Washington, and Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Washington, Seattle. Currently, he is the Director of Pediatric Nephrology at Meyer Children’s Hospital and Rambam Medical Center, and Director of the Laboratory of Developmental Nephrology at the Department of Physiology and Biophysics at the Technion Faculty of Medicine. He is Associate Professor of Pediatrics, Nephrology and Physiology at the Technion Faculty of Medicine and the University of Washington, Seattle, and a member of the Rappaport Institute for Research in the Medical Sciences. He is also a member of the Editorial Board and Section Editor of "Hereditary Kidney Diseases/Tubular Disorders" in the Journal of Pediatric Nephrology (Journal of the International Pediatric Nephrology Association). Prof. Zelikovic's research interests are in the fields of renal tubular transport, molecular biology of ion channels and transporters in the kidney and molecular genetics of hereditary kidney disorders.
