Dr. Zalman graduated cum laude from the Faculty of Medicine of the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, as part of the academic reserve, and served as a military physician. She trained in Internal Medicine at Bnai Zion Medical Center, Haifa. During her residency she contributed to the development of a computerized drug order entry system in the hospital, and quality assurance of drug delivery. Dr. Zalman is about to complete her second residency, in Oncology, at Rambam Medical Center. During her training, she helped to create a multidisciplinary palliative team for oncology patients. Dr. Zalman received the Martha Brodai Prize for the 2006\7 for her contribution to palliation of suffering and pain.
