Dr. Petra Zackheim is a child and adolescent psychiatrist. She completed her medical studies at the University of Goettingen, Germany, and specialized in child and adolescent psychiatry at Geha Hospital, Petach Tikva.She studied psychotherapy at the psychoanalytically oriented Institute for Psychotherapy at Petach Tikva, and completed advanced studies in the field of infant psychiatry at the University of Tel Aviv.
Dr. Zackheim was in charge of the community based psychiatric child and adolescent outpatient clinics of Mazra Psychiatric Hospital for 6 years.Since 2003, she has served as the Director of the Infant, Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Unit at Rambam Hospital.She is actively involved in the teaching program of medical students, nurses and students of psychology and psychotherapy.Her special interests are psychogenic disturbances, comorbidity of physical and emotional disturbances, Tourette syndrome, and complex developmental and emotional disturbances.
