Dr. Itai Shavit, an emergency physician and pediatrician, is a graduate of the Rappaport Faculty of Medicine at the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa.
Dr. Shavit completed his pediatric residency at the Rambam Medical Center in Haifa, and a Fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at the Alberta Children's Hospital in Calgary, Canada.
He is currently the editor of the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Database (http://www.PEMdatabase.Org) and is also an AAP director of the Advanced Pediatric Life Support course.
Dr. Shavit's research interests are procedural sedation & analgesia, injury prevention, and EM technology.
In 2006, Dr. Shavit received the Technion’s annual award for outstanding lectureship.
