Dr. Nakhoul is a graduate of the School of Medicine in Padova, Italy and of the Nephrology Medicine Program at Rambam Medical Center. He completed fellowships at the UCLA and USC School of Medicine, Los Angeles, California in the field of Arterial Hypertension.
He is a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine of the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology and Deputy Director of the Nephrology Department.

Dr. Nakhoul belongs to a research group at Rambam which is investigating the mechanisms of pulmonary hypertension in dialysis patients; the group has published its findings in several nephrology journals. Dr. Nakhoul also belongs to the Vascular Biology Lab at the Technion Faculty of Medicine, and his main research interest is diabetic nephropathy in a special model of diabetic mice.
Dr. Nakhoul is a member of the American Society of Nephrology and American Society of Hypertension, and a reviewer for several nephrology journals.
