Professor Simcha Milo is the Head of the Department of Cardiac Surgery at the Rambam Medical
Center, and the Faculty of Medicine, Technion-Israel Institute of Technology.
Prof. Milo graduated from the University of Basel, Switzerland and trained in Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas under Michael E. DeBakey.

Prof. Milo holds academic positions at Baylor College of Medicine, Dept. of Cardiovascular Sciences, Houston, Texas and the Department of Biomedical Engineering and Aeronautics, Caltech, California Institute of Technology, Pasadena CA.
He has vast research and practical experience in the field of adult and pediatric cardiac surgery.
He has published over 85 papers in world leading journals and is a reviewer for the two most prestigious of them.

Prof. Milo's main clinical and scientific interests are in bubble formation in prosthetic heart valves, in the future generation and technologies of heart valves and in brain protection in the course of cardiac surgery, cardiac catheterization and hemodialysis.
