Dr. Gralnek is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA in Los Angeles, California, and has recently joined Rambam Medical Center where he is the Deputy Chief of the Department of Gastroenterology and heads the GI Outcomes Unit.djDr. Gralnek is the medical director for all Ambulatory Healthcare Services at Rambam Medical Center. In 1989, Dr. Gralnek received his medical degree from the University of Minnesota. He served his residency in internal medicine at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis where he also served as Chief Resident.djIn 1996, Dr. Gralnek completed his fellowship in gastroenterology at UCLA Center for the Health Sciences and received his Masters degree in Health Services from the prestigious UCLA School of Public Health.dkHe has received numerous professional awards including VA HSR&D Entry and Advanced Research Career Development Awards, a VA HSR&D Merit Review Award, the UCLA Affiliated Fellowship Training Program in Gastroenterology Distinguished Faculty Teaching Award, and was recently elected as a fellow to the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.dkDr. Gralnek is an internationally recognized leader in the field of GIoutcomes research and has authored more than 100 scientific publications.dkDr. Gralnek’s clinical and research interests have focused on process of care and outcomes in gastrointestinal hemorrhage, GERD, irritable bowel syndrome, and measuring health-related quality of life in individuals with chronic gastroenterologic and hepatic diseases.dkDr. Gralnek serves as the Chair of the research committee of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, is an associate editor for Evidence-Based Gastroenterology, is a member of the international editorial review board for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and is a peer-reviewer for numerous general medicine and GI journals including New England Journal of Medicine, Gastroenterology, Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and American.dk
