Michael Krausz MD

Professor Michael Krausz is a surgeon who graduated from the Hebrew University Faculty of Medicinein Jerusalem. He fulfilled his post-graduate clinical and research training in Surgery at the Hadassah University Hospital in Jerusalem.
He was both Deputy Director of the Department of Surgery and Professor of Surgery at Hebrew University.
He completed a Research Fellowship at the Department of Surgery at Harvard Medical School in Boston and served as Director of Surgery and Professor of Surgery at the Carmel Medical Center in Haifa and at the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology.
He is currently Chair of the Israel Surgical Society. In addition Professor Krausz is Chair of the Directors Association of the Rambam Medical Center and is Director of the Department of Surgery “A.” Professor Krausz's clinical interests are in surgery of the thyroid and parathyroid glands, breast cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, trauma surgery and advanced laparoscopic surgery.His main research interests are in the treatment of trauma, shock and sepsis. His most recognized research findings were the definition of "uncontrolled hemorrhagic shock" which changed the concept of initial treatment of hemorrhagic shock in trauma casualties and led to the limitation of infusion of resuscitation fluids in shock.
