Dr. Jesse (Yishai) Lachter is the Head of the Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) Service which is part of the Department of Gastroenterology in the Rambam Health Care Campus. A graduate of the Faculty of Medicine of the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, Dr. Lachter completed internal medicine and gastroenterology training at Rambam.

Today Dr. Lachter is a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the Technion Faculty of Medicine. His major clinical interests are in colon and pancreatic cancer prevention and early detection, and endoscopic ultrasound. He is author or co-author of nearly 100 scientific papers, and has presented his scientific work on all five continents. He reviews and/or edits for several prestigious journals in his fields of expertise. Dr. Lachter has been Deputy Head of the Technion American Medical School student program since 2005, and is head of the national scientific council on Familial Dysautonomia.
