Dr. Amir Karban is the Director of the Department of Internal Medicine"C" at Rambam Health Care Campus.
After graduating from the Faculty of Medicine at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Dr. Karban trained in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology at Rambam. This was followed by a fellowship at Johns Hopkins University, School of Medicine in Baltimore, MD, USA.
 
Dr. Karban's main research and clinical interest is the genetics of Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD, Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis).
He is the author of over 40 publications in medical journals, a member in a number of professional societies, and has received honors and awards for excellence in lecturing and in work. In addition, he received a Lecturer degree from the Rappaport Faculty of Medicine, Technion, Haifa.
