Dr. Hoffer graduated in Chemistry (B.Sc. and M.Sc.) at the Hebrew University, Jerusalem. She obtained a Ph.D. degree from the Weizmann Institute of Science and was trained in Analytical Toxicology at the Poison Unit in London. Dr. Hoffer founded the Laboratory of Clinical Toxicology and Pharmacology at the Israel Poison Information Center at Rambam in 1979. In 1982, therapeutic drug monitoring was added to the services provided by the laboratory. In 1995 the services were further expanded to include occupational toxicology. Dr. Hoffer's research interests include occupational toxicology, paraquat toxicity and pharmacokinetics. She is a recipient of several grants from the Israel Ministry of Labor and Welfare.
