Dr. Gilboa is a graduate of the University Medical School of Pisa, Italy. He trained in ophthalmology at Rambam Medical Center and completed a clinical and surgical fellowship in vitreo-retinal diseases and oculoplastics at the Adenbrooks University Hospital, Cambridge, England. He completed a second fellowship in strabismus and orbital diseases at Smith-Kettelwell Institute of Ophthalmology in San-Francisco, USA. He subsequently held a visiting scientist position at the QE Medical Center, Halifax, Nova-Scotia, Canada.

After returning from abroad, Dr. Gilboa became Head of the Oculoplastics and Orbital Service in the Department of Ophthalmology at Rambam. Dr. Gilboa treats both children and adults with a variety of oculoplastic orbital and lacrimal disorders. His main fields of interest are eyelid surgery, lacrimal pathway surgery and orbital oncology.
