Professor Ruth Gershoni-Baruch is a pediatrician and medical geneticist, and a graduate of Tel-Aviv University. She completed her residency in Pediatrics at the Rambam Medical Center and a Fellowship in Genetics in Cape-Town, South Africa.Prof. Gershoni-Baruch is the Director of the Department of Medical Genetics at the Rambam Healthcare Campus. She has delineated several genetic syndromes and was first to describe the clinical findings of Gershoni-Baruch syndrome. Her publications on hereditary breast/ovarian cancer syndrome are notable.She is a pioneer in genetic research on familial Mediterranean fever (FMF) and Parkinson's disease. She is the author of over 130 scientific articles.
