Professor Rachel Friedman-Birnbaum is a graduate of the Faculty of Medicine, Geneva, Switzerland and of the Dermatology Residency Program at Rambam Medical Center. She is a Senior Physician at the Phototherapy and Psoriasis Care Center at Rambam Medical Center. Prof. Friedman-Birnbaum served as Director of the Department of Dermatology, Rambam Medical Center from 1984 to 2000). She has been a Visiting Physician at the Departments of Dermatology, St. Mary's Hospital, London, at Memorial Sloan Kettering, New York and at the University of California, San Francisco. She was also a Visiting Professor at the Skin Care Center, Vancouver, BC.
Prof. Friedman-Birnbaum is the author of over 150 scientific publications and is an invited lecturer in many national and international conferences. She has served as the President of the Israel Society of Dermatology and Venereology and is an Honorary Member of the Hungarian, German, Romanian and Finnish Dermatological Societies. Dr. Friedman-Birnbaum has also been a member of the Advisory Council of the International Society of Dermatology and as member of the International Affairs Committee of the American Academy of Dermatology. She is presently a member of the Board and the Scientific Committee of the Mediterranean Association of Dermatology and a member of the International Affairs Committee of the American Women's Dermatological Society. Prof. Friedman-Birnbaum is the recipient of the International League of Dermatological Societies Certificate of Appreciation, 2005.
