Professor Benjamin Brenner is a graduate of the Rappaport Faculty of Medicine at the Technion– Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa. He trained in Internal Medicine and Hematology at Rambam Medical Center and completed post-doctoral research in coagulation at the University of Rochester.In 1994 Dr. Brenner was appointed the first Director of the Thrombosis and Hemostasis Unit, and became Deputy Director of the Department of Hematology and Bone Marrow Transplantation Rambam Medical Center.His research in the Unit includes studies on gestational vascular complications focusing on hemostatic and angiogenic mechanisms in the placenta, the mechanisms of thrombosis in cancer patients, and the evaluation of novel anticoagulant and hemostatic drugs in patients with thrombotic and hemostatic disorders.
