Dr Haim Ben-Ami graduated from Hebrew University and Hadassah Medical School in Jerusalem. He did his residency in internal medicine at Rambam Medical Center After completing the residency program, he joined the basic research program at University College of London, England where he studied "The modal haplotype of the Cohen gene", a study which was published in "Nature".After returning to Israel, Dr. Ben-Ami joined the Liver Unit at Rambam Medical Center.Dr Ben-Ami was awarded the Bnai Brith Prize for Excellence in Research for 1992. In addition to his work with the Liver Unit, he is Director of the Medical Consultation Unit to the Division of Surgery as well.
