Dr. Zaher Azzam is a graduate of the Rappaport Faculty of Medicine at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa. He obtained his clinical training in Internal Medicine and Cardiology at Rambam Medical Center. After completing a Research Fellowship at Northwestern University in Chicago, he returned to Rambam Medical Center and served as Deputy Director of Internal Medicine "B." Currently he is the Acting Director of the Department and Program Director of Internship. He is a member of the Rappaport Research Institute at the Faculty of Medicine at the Technion. Dr. Azzam's main research and clinical interests are in the fields of cellular mechanisms of pulmonary edema clearance, heart failure and medical education.
