Prof. Aronson is a cardiologist who graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the
Technion-IsraelInstitute of Technology.
He completed postgraduate clinical and research training in cardiology and cell biology at the Beth-Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School.
Prof. Aronson is currently the Director of the Cardiac Intermediate Care Unit at Rambam Medical Center.

Prof. Aronson's research interests include the role of inflammation in atherosclerosis and acute coronary syndromes, heart failure and cardiovascular complications of diabetes, areas in which he and his colleagues have made a number of internationally recognized contributions.
