The first Muslim house of prayer to be opened in a government hospital in Israel, was dedicated at Rambam on April 17, 2008 by Minister of Science, Culture and Sports Raleb Majadele.

Rambam’s general Intensive Care Unit (ICU) now boasts a mobile heart-lung machine as a
result of efforts by Washington-based Israeli businessmen, Zur Feldman and Yuval Rabin,
who were able to raise $100,000 in one night alone.

Prof. Amos Etzioni, Director of Meyer Children's Hospital at Rambam, diagnosed the rare
genetic disease of a young girl from Afghanistan. This diagnosis is the first step in
combating the disease, curable only by bone marrow transplant.

A young Zambian boy returned to his native Africa after a three-month hospitalization at Rambam, during which time he was treated for a rare skin disease that can cause death from dehydration and infection.
